Silk Ikat
Velvet Ikat
IKAT SILK & VELVET
Ikat fabric is a traditional textile that has captivated the world with its vibrant patterns and intricate designs. This fabric is known for its unique dyeing process, which creates stunning, one-of-a-kind patterns that are both culturally rich and visually striking.
IT'S PERFECT IMPERFECTIONS
Ikat fabric, used in our shades, is handcrafted using traditional techniques. Variations in pattern and color are inherent to the dyeing process, making each piece unique. Slight differences and imperfections should not be considered defects but rather a testament to the authentic, handmade nature of the fabric.
TRANSLUCENCY
The translucency difference between Velvet Ikat and Silk Ikat is significant. Silk Ikat, especially in white or light colors, is semi-transparent and allows light to shine through, providing a high light yield. To enhance this effect, a chintz inner lining is often preferred over a matte gold lining.
In contrast, Velvet Ikat is opaque and does not allow light to pass through. For Velvet Ikat, a matte gold lining is usually preferred to enhance its luxurious appearance.
